Our Story

Helping Hands Silicon Valley started in 2020 with the aim to provide meals for about 6-7 people living in tents in our neighborhood. With support from the local community, we started by providing food, hygiene, and other essentials to this small group. Seeing the overwhelming support, we branched out and sent homemade masks to the farmers in Monterey County, hygiene kits including feminine hygiene to survivors of the horrible fires in Northern California and Santa Cruz, and assembled and donated hygiene kits to Our Daily Bread in Sunnyvale. Since our humble beginnings, HHSV has grown to now serve 70+ people within the unhoused community and low-income families. 

Our Philosophy

Building individual relationships with these members of our community in order to understand their specific needs, is the most effective way to help and support them. We prioritize treating those we help with love, compassion, and dignity.
